Kanchenjunga Trekking

This trekking area is situated in east Nepal which also is a remote area but rich in culture and bio-diversity. Kanchenjunga trek is highly recommended to adventurous holiday makers. Trekking has only recently been permitted in this area so it is essential to be self sufficient in staff and supplies. One should not miss out such varied mixture of nature’s presents itself in the lap of mother Earth.

Kanchenjunga trekking duration is of an average of 6 hours walking a day but the paths are often rough and parts are very steep so it is strenuous. In April and May, our national flower; Rhododendrons blooms at their best covering all the hills which gives an effect of heaven– over 20 species were seen in 1992 out of 30 native to Nepal and 240 species of birds.

Kanchenjunga is also the world's third highest peak which is 8,586m. This trekking region offers infinite variety of landscapes, cultures and panoramic views of Himalayas. Walking on the low lands of Nepal passing terraced fields, colorful villages, green forests, and the trek enters into a ridge line of rhododendron. As the trail gains altitude, gorgeous views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, & Kanchenjunga, four of the world’s five highest mountains make the trek actually rewarding. Approaching Yalung glacier & crossing aeries of passes, the views become more magnificent and then the trail reaches to Pangpema base camp 4800m. It is the base camp for Kanchenjunga expedition. Massive Kanchenjunga (8598 m) lies on the border of Nepal and Sikkim. Musk deer and blue sheep are mostly found here and also the abominable snow man YETI is believed to be existed here. It offers excellent panoramic views of Everest, Makalu and Kanchenjunga itself. It is inhabited by a few scattered populations and is in a real wild terrain of Nepal.
