Annapurna Region Treks

A majestic section of Himalayas capturing area, Annapurna holds its own captivating beauty around. One can get mesmerized with the single glimpse of the enchanting mountains and high parade of Himalayas looking like a exotic models of nature. Annapurna area is one of the most popular adventure destination lies on the North of Pokhara and easily accessible through 210 km drive or 35 minute flight to Pokhra from Kathmandu. From Pokhara, the trek can be planned of 3-21 days (according to the interest and time frame of the trekkers)-namely Circuit, Sanctuary, foothills, Jomsom, Siklis and some other trek.

 

The trek is full of enchanting and alluring panoramas of Annapurna and the Grand barrier when seen from the north are mind- captivating than their milder southern faces Isolated beyond the barrier of Lamjung, Dhaula Giri, Tilicho, Manang and the Marsayandi valley offers a wild, Barren and dramatic landscape, a great contrast to the return route through the Kali Gandaki gorge. All this perfectly blends with each other to give you all the magic of beauty. This region offers incredible diverse scenery, with high spectacular mountains and low land.

 

The classic trekking route includes the himalayan terrain of the Magars, Gurung, Thakali and Managies – some of the oldest ethnic group of Nepal residing there. The trek passes through the lush southern slopes of the Himalayan foothills, Trans - himalayan Manang, and southern Mustang with arid - Tibetian plateau characteristics. The divine beauty of "Fish Tail" mountain (Machhapuchhare), the massive Annapurnas and the great Dhaulagiri standing like a mighty protector of the Kali Gandaki Valley. The crossing of the Thorang la Pass at 5416m/17765ft is the highest point of the trek, which circum – treks the Annapurna massif in anti-clockwise. Although it is best to start and end in the Pokhara Valley, there is also the option of visiting other beautiful places like Gorkha and Besisahar to use as a springboard for this great trek.
