Bardia National Park Tour Bardia National Park is the largest National Park situated in the mid-far western region lowlands of the Terai, and covers 968 sq. km. The park is home to the largest population of the elusive Bengal Tiger and there are 30 more species of other mammals, such as Bears, moneys, civets, hyenas, wild dogs, otters, wild boar, leopards adn deer. It is regenerated habitat for endangered animals like the Tiger, Rhinoceros, wild Elephant (the park harbors the largest wild tusker in Asia) and the black duck. Crocodiles, Masher fish and the Gangetic dolphin cavort in the river waters. There are more than 350 spces of birds which include the cormorants, egret, stork, geese, jungle foul, Kingfisher, horn bills plus endangered species such as the Bengal florican, silver eared mesia and the saurus crane, making the park a true delight for bird watchers.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Traveling from Kathamndu to Nepalgunj one hour by flight and from Nepalgunj one and half hour Jeep drive to Bardia National park. On Arrival at resort welcome drinks will serve and briefing about your stay in Badia.

Day 02-04: Wildlife activities in Bardia such like Elephant Safari, Jungle Trek., Culture Village tour, Visit to the Tharu museum, crocodile breeding center, Jeep Safari, Rafting on the Karnali river, Bird Watching tour and Black Buck tour etc.

Day 05: We spend the morning bird watching around the camp premises before breakfast. We take time off for packing and depending on the flight time we departure for Nepalgunj airport, 2 hours before check-in time. Arrive Kathamndu and transfer to hotel, free after noon for shopping and O/N hotel in Kathmandu.

Note: When to Visit?

The best time to visit Bardia National Park is from October through May. This is a good period also to watch many winter migrants that abound at there. The month of May till the end of September, during the onset of the monsoon, thing are wetter because of rain when the temperature averages 25-30 degrees Celsius.

What to Bring with you?

Binoculars, Water bottle, hiking boots, sun cream, sun hat and glasses, medical supplies (Although we keep a general medical kit box at camp, you may wish to bring some medicines specific to you), reading books, flashlight and batteries, camera film and batteries, pocket knife, insect repellent and natural colored & lightest clothing. Comfortable walking shoes are essential. Please carry only the bare necessities but not jeweler and valuable items. During winter sweater or jacket required.

How To Get There?

By Air: It is a One hour flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj Airport. Where you will be meet by our Bardia representative and transfer to the Resort. From Nepalgunj it is roughly 1½ hour drive to the resort.

By surface: You can reserve a private transport or catch a direct bus from Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan or Nepalgunj plying on the Mahendra Nagar, Dhangadi or Karnali route, drop at Amassa from where our jeep shall receive you. From Kathmandu it is 522 km, which generally takes about 15 hours. We generally do not recommend driving straight from and to Kathmandu, as it is rather a long journey.

Note: The Bardia visit can be combined two days Nepal heritage tour in Kathmandu valley and 4-7 days village Culture trek in around the Mahabharat hills rims. It can make best combination of your holiday in Nepal. However we do our best to make your visit as best as possible and memorable one in the life times.
