Day 1 Kathmandu (1300m) – Nylam (Nepal/Tibet Border) –6 hours drive:
Starting early in the mornig from Kathmandu. We will arrive at the friendship bridge at about 1300 hrs Nepali time. This short journey to the tibetan border offers some spectacular mountain views such as Langtang, GHauri Shankher, Melungtse and Khumbu himal. Upon arriving at the border and after completing the Immigration / custom formalities, we will then be driven uphill to nylam , the small yet attractive border city of Tibet. Check in and O/N Hotel.
Day 2 Nylam-Lhatse (4050m-244m) 5-6 hrs drive:
Today's journey take us through the deep valley of Bhote koshi river with lots of waterfall on the way. After a two hours drive, we arrive at Nylam Pass ( 3800m0 leading to Xegar from where there are excellent view of Jugal Himal, Mt.Xishapangma (8012m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8201M0, and Mt everest (8848m) dwarfed by the vastness of Tibetan plateau. O/N hotel.
Day 3 Lhatse – Shigatse (3900m-261km) – 5-6 hours drive:
After breakfast scenic drive through the highest point, Gyatchu La pass (5220m) en-route reaching shigatse, the place of the famous Tashi Lumpo Monastery and Seat of Panchen Lama until his death in 1989 with its huge Thanka wall which is clearly visible on north side of the road. O/n hotel.
Day 4 Shigatse- Gyantse (3950m – 90 km) - 2:00 hours drive:
Vist to Tashi LumPo Monastery and Shigatse Bazaar in the morning arriving to Gyantse after two hours drive, a small yet busting town steeped in Tibetan history. Gyantse lies 264 km southwest of Lhasa on the northern bank of NYANG CHU River which was served as the capital of a small kingdom during the15th century, followed by a visit to kumbum chorten the main center for trade with British Indian. O/N hotel.
Day 5 Gyantse – Lhasa (3650m-259 Km) - 7: 00 hours drive:
After Breakfast, a 7 hrs drive takes us to Lhasa crossing the Karo La pass ( 5010m) and Kamba La (4793m) . Passes The Karo La climbs between two lofty mountains, Nozin Khangsa (7223m) and Ralung (6236m). While driving we will find Yamdrok Tso (Turuoise Lake) Which takes approximately one hours to cross. After passing Kamba La Pass , Lhasa Valley is see to the north. We will then cross over the Bridge of Bramputra River. Arrive Lhasa and check –in at hotel. The accompanied guide will request you for the reconfirmation of your return ticket. O/N Hotel.
Day 6 Sightseeing in Lhasa:
Full day Sightseeing of Lhasa ( Sera, Deraphung and Norbulikha etc.
Day 7 Sightseeing in Lhasa:
Full day sightsseing of Lhasa (Potala, Jokhang etc. O/N hotel.
Day 8 Lhasa – Kathmandu ( By air):
Very early in the morning we will drive (90 Km two hours) to airport for departure to Kathmandu. |
