Kanchenjunga Trek.

East Nepal is a remote area, reach in culture and bio-diversity.This trek is highly recommended to adventurous holiday makers. Trekking has only recently been permitted in the area so it is essential to be self sufficient in staff and supplies. The trek stages average about 6 hours walking a day but the paths are often rough and parts are very steep so it is STRENUOUS. In April and may the rhododendrons should be at their best – over 20 species were seen in 1992 out of 30 native to Nepal and 240 species of birds. Kanchenjunga trekking/Kanchenjunga of world's third highest peak, Kanchenjunga, (8,586m.) offers infinite variety of landscapes, cultures and panoramic views of Himalayas. Walking on the low lands of Nepal passing terraced fields, colorful villages, green forests, the trek enters into a ridge line of rhododendron. As the trail gains altitude, gorgeous views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, & Kanchenjunga, four of the worlds five highest mountains make the trek rewarding. Approaching Yalung glacier & crossing aeries of passes, the views become more magnificent. The trail reaches Pangpema base camp (4800m.) which is the base camp for Kanchenjunga expedition. Massive Kanchenjunga (8598 m) lies on the border of Nepal and Sikkim. Musk deer, a and blue sheep are mostly found here and also the abominable snow man YETI is believed exist here. It offers excellent panoramic views of Everest, Makalu and Kanchenjunga itself. It is inhabited by a few scattered population and is in a real wild terrain of Nepal.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel over night stay.

Day 2 : Morning half day Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley over night hotel

Day 3 : Morning fly to Taplejung meet trek staff and commence trek to Lali Kharka and Camp

Day 4 : Trek to Kunjuri / Khesewa.

Day 5 : Trek to Ampang / Mamankhe.

Day 6 : Trek to Yamphudin.

Day 7 : Trek to Omje Khola Valley

Day 8 : Trek to Torontan (Simbua Khola).

Day 9 : Trek to Tseram.

Day 10 : Trek to Ramse.

Day 11 : Rest day at Ramse.

Day 12 : Trek above Tseram (high Camp).

Day 13 : Trek to along the 3 passes Mrigin La, sinin La and Selele to Gunsa.

Day 14 : Trek to Khampachen, along the valley, across Gunsa khola & gentle climb.

Day 15 : Trek to Lhonak.

Day 16 : Rest day at Lhonak

Day 17 : Day trip to Pangpema North Base Camp & return to Lhonak

Day 18 : Trek to Khambachen .

Day 19 : Trek to Ghunza.

Day 20 : Trek to Sangmung Khola

Day 21 : A steep ascent to Amjilasa and down to Sekathum

Day 22 : Past Hellok and descend beside the Tamur to camp at Tawa.

Day 23 : Trek to Thuma, along the Tamore Khola

Day 24 : Trek to Dobhan for lunch, After lunch gentle climb to Dhungesangu

Day 25 : Continue gentle climb to Milkedanda, camp at summer passture.

Day 26 : Trek to Manglabare or Chouki, pleasant walk along the ridge

Day 27 : Trek to Bashantpur, climb over the Tinjure pass last day of trek.

Day 28 : Drive 5 hours to Biratnagar and Fly to Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel

Day 29 : Free day in Kathmandu for shoping etc.

Day 30 : Transfer to airport for International Depature.

Ground transfers: From / to Starting & Ending Point Of The Trek. 4 nights hotel twin room on B+B plan in kathmandu. Camping equipments two men tent, Sleeping bag, Mattress, Dining tent with table and chairs and Toilet tent. Kitchen Equipment & trek food include all meals, Tea & coffee. Trek Staff: Sirdar, Sherpa Guide, Cook, Porters. Staff insurance covered up to 19000ft.
