Jiri to Everest Trek.

Follows the classic Everest expedition route through hill, villages where the scenery and way of life of typical of must of rural Nepal. Lots of climbing route crosses several ridges separated by deep river valleys. An excellent trek that offer a chance to acclimatize before heading to Everest Bas Camp or Gokyo. This section details the first eight days of a trek from Jiri to the Everest Base Camp or Gokyo. This is the best way to do an Everest trek, but it is shown here are two different treks because must people fly to Lukla and walk only the high – altitude portion of the route. This means that the portion of the treks from Jiri to Lukla is often uncrowned and therefore excellent trekking country. This trek is a great introduction to Sherpa country and its culture with great mountain views, a very popular destination for first time trekkers in Nepal. This trek is best suited for those who do not have enough time for longer treks into the high mountains.

Outline Itinerary:

Days 01 : Upon arrival in Kathmandu a representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your Hotel.

Days 02 : Early morning drive to Jiri. Overnight Camp

Days 03 : Trek to Shivayala.

Days 04 : Trek to Bhandar (2040m).

Days 05 : Trek to Sate (2575m).

Days 06 : Trek to Junbesi (2675m)

Days 07 : Trek to Thaksindo Monastery (2934m).

Days 08 : Trek to Khari Khola (2070m).

Days 09 : Trek to Pinyan (2830m).

Days 10 : Trek to Phakding (2830m).

Days 11 : Trek to Namche Bazaar (3444m).

Days 12 : Namche Bazaar Rest and Acclimatization.

Days 13 : Trek to Thyangboche Monastery (3875m).

Days 14 : Trek to Dingboche (4360m).

Days 15 : Dingboche Rest and Acclimatization.

Days 16 : Trek to Lobuje (4930m).

Days 17 : Trek to Lobuje.

Days 18 : Trek to Pangbuche.

Days 19 : Trek to Khumjung (3779m).

Days 20 : Trek to Jorsalla (2800m).

Days 21 : Trek to Lukla along the gorge of the Dudh Kosi to the small mountain airstrip at Lukla to catch your return flight to Kathmandu. Weather permitting your trekking crew might prepare a farewell treat for you. You would be expected to join in the singing and the dancing!

Days 22 : Flight back to Kathmandu at the airport transfer to the Hotel. A free afternoon in Kathmandu

Days 23 : These are "cushion" days in case bad weather or other circumstances delay your return to Kathmandu. Otherwise, they can be used for sightseeing around Kathmandu valley or free for shopping days. O/N Hotel

Days 24 : Depart Katmandu
