Day 01, Bangkok- Paro
An early morning your adventure begins as you wing across the eastern Himalayas aboard your Druk Air flight to Paro. After completing brief entry formalities, you will be met and accompanied to the Hotel.An afternoon sightseeing includes a visit to the Drugyel Dzong built by Shabdrung Ngawan Namgyal in 1956, the national museum of Bhutan and Paro Rinpung Dzong- with its superb woodwork, is one of the beautiful in the Country. Day 02, Full day excursion to Takshang- Thimpu:
An early morning drive along the villages and Paro River affords you the spectacle scene. On arrival in the base of hill, take a horse or day hike to Takshang or Tiger nest. It is one of the most famous monasteries in Bhutan and perched in the huge cliff nearly 3000 ft above the Paro valley. (Nearly 2 hours going up and an hours coming down). After the day hike drive to Thimpu- the capital city of Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan . B/L/D
Day 03, Explore Thimpu:
Today your tour of this beautiful Himalayan kingdom includes a visit to the National Memorial Chorten (1974) built in honor of our late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk and the Dupthop Lhakhang one of the few surviving nunneries in Bhutan .Tour continues to the National Library, stocked with ancient Buddhist manuscripts, and the Painting School. After lunch we drive to the Traditional Medicine Institute and to Lungtenzampa to observe the Royal silver smiths and Bhutanese paper factory at work. Other highlights include a visit to the Tashichho Dzong, seat of the national government and the Central Monastic Body, including the summer residence of the Je Khenpo (Chief Abbot of Bhutan ). We drive to Simtokha Dzong; the oldest Dzong of Bhutan built by Shabdrung in 1627 and finally visit the Handicrafts Emporium followed by shopping for souvenirs in the shops of Thimphu . Day 04. Thimphu – Punakha-Wangdi: (72 Kms, 3 hours drive).
Today enjoy a scenic drive through the forest of Rhododendron , pine trees crossing over 11000 feet of Dochu-la ( pass ), villages and Punakha valley ( former capital of Bhutan ). Visit Chime Lhakhang ( temple of fertility) and continue driving to Punakha Dzong-the winter residence of the Je Khempo and one of the most beautiful Dzong in Bhutan with it’s an outstanding structure. Overnight at Kichu Resort, Wangdue. B/L/D
Day 05, Wangdue-Gangtey:
This morning visit includes Wangduephodrang Dzong built in 1638. Tour continues to through the Gangtey valley. On arrival Gangtey Gompa. Gyaltse Pema Thinley, the grandson and mind reincarnation of Pema Lingpa founded the Temple in 1613, and Tenzin Legpai Dhendup, the second re-incarnation, built the temple. The present Abbot, Kunzang Pema Namgyal is the ninth re-incarnation. It is a Nyingmapa monastery and is affiliated to other Nyingmapa monasteries including Tamshing in Bumthang. Explore Phobjikha valley, famous for the Black Necked Cranes during winter. An afternoon explores the Gangtey valley in your own. Overnight at Hotel Dewachen. B/L/D
Day 06. Gangtey - Thimpu:
Today marks the start of the final leg of your journey as you discover the vitality of Bhutan from green hills, black mountains, valleys, monasteries, villages to bustle of Thimpu and Paro. On arrival in Thimpu visit Bhutanese Handicraft center if you are interested to buy souvenir of Bhutan than drive to Paro. Overnight in Paro. Tonight you are hosted to a farewell dinner to recount the exciting moments shared on your tour. Overnight in Paro. B/L/D
Day 07. Departure:
Sadly your tour concludes this morning after breakfast. Our Bhutan representative will be on hand to arrange your airport transfer to connect with your flight. B |
